Resurrection: The ForgetSPECS Journey (Part 5)

I apologise for the time delay in updating my followers and community. Thank you for your ongoing interest and support.

Well by the time you read this, there will probably be a huge time delay.

So much water under the bridge so I won’t bore you with all the detail. We have had numerous iterations of moulds, protoptypes, testing and review, redesign, moulding, manufacture test, review re-design. It has been a bit of a virtuous cycle.

We haven’t quite got to the launch stage, because we want to have a perfect product that provides the best customer experience.

In early 2023, I was contact by a major USA Screen Protector Manufacturer. They were interested in our product and wanted to know more. They were very interested, and after signing an NDA, the more I divulged, the more interested they became in our ground breaking technology. They produce screen protectors for all the major screen protector brands. They wanted to integrate our design into their films, if it worked. Our moulds were sent to London where their R & D department was located. In June 2023, they produced dozens of prototypes with varying parameters to test for the best combinations of materials, thicknesses etc. These have been in testing for the best part of the remainder of 2023.

Despite many tests, over many months, the results were variable. A few people were able to read them, but not everyone. This was not in a “Go To Market” state.

The designs worked in the computer simulations, but this was not being translated to the finished prototype.

In early 2024, we completed a full technology review, of every step in the process, from the software platforms to the designs, simulations, prototype v designs, production moulds, materials, manufacturing process etc. There were some key learnings.

Time to build a new mould and prototype. This is where we are at present. We will build it for a later model phone iPhone 12/13. We have learned a lot along the journey and feel we are better placed than ever to produce the “golden sample”. Our partners have supported us and for that we are eternally grateful.

To short circuit the time and money invested in building the new moulds, we have re-discovered a method for rapid prototyping - Nano 3D printing. Our partner recently commissioned a new 3D nano printer and testing is still in its infancy.

I hope to keep you more informed in the future. Watch this space.
